Sarah Louise

Sarah Louise

Introducing Sarah Louise, the singer-songwriter from North Wales.
Having built a reputation as a talented and popular Welsh language singer-songwriter with leading Welsh record label ‘Sain’, Sarah has branched out into the global market with her debut English language album, Skin Deep.
Sarah is an acoustic/folk-rock artist, with an intimate earthy voice. She has a mature contemporary sound, an honest song writing approach and hooky melodies, similar to one of her biggest influences, Alanis Morissette.
She has created an album that addresses a range of issues such as identity, materialism; issues especially relevant to young people and women, and has done so with a combination of up-tempo, up-beat folk-rock tracks alongside more emotional acoustic songs.

History

History

Sarah released a Welsh language album in 2005 entitled Tir Na Nog, which made Sarah increasingly sought after in festivals, on radio and TV. She had created a style which not only appealed to a Welsh speaking audience, but to an international audience, who fell in love with her voice, regardless of language.
The album was followed by a bilingual EP in 2007, featuring a duet with Canadian singer Tia McGraff. It was McGraff’s husband, Nashville song-writer and producer Tommy Parham, who saw the potential in Sarah as an international artist, and invited her to let him produce her first English language album.

The album mixes American and British styles and Sarah has even included one Welsh language song on her album entitled F’enaid. (“My Soul”).
Aside from her music, Sarah has recently graduated with a 1st class honours degree, having studied journalism, film, English literature and creative writing. She is involved in independent film, as a writer and also directed her own music video
